Piazzale Michelangelo

Similar to the lookout point at The Duomo, Piazzale Michelangelo is an amazing spot to view Florence, Italy. Unlike The Duomo, you can take a bus or a car to this lookout point. However, if you are willing to take the hike to the piazza it takes about twenty to thirty minutes to walk from center city to the terrace. When taking the walk, keep an eye out for some street art and unique shops. I was able to spot a shop that sells hand-made, decorative stationary as well as a record store.

The view from Piazzale Michelangelo is beautiful at any time of day, but the most ideal times to go are at sunrise and sunset. The way the light falls over the city at those times of day is absolutely incredible. No matter who you are, this location will leave you speechless.

If you want to spend more time overlooking Florence, there is a restaurant located in a building from the 1800s on the terrace. La Loggia del Piazzale Michelangelo is a sit-down restaurant that offers indoor and outdoor seating, however it can be pricey due to the location.

A great spot to check out on the way to or from Piazzale Michelangelo is the ContempO Records store. This shop is located at Via dei Neri 15/R, 50122 Florence, Firenze Italy. It is the perfect place for music lovers. ContempO features hundreds of artists and genres from Mariah Carey to The Rolling Stones.
