Tuscany is an amazing place for foodies to experience various types of cuisine. The highlight, however, is the pasta.

Tortellini is a very popular pasta, especially in Bologna. This amazing tortellini alla carbonara is from Ristorante La Galleria Il Vino dei Guelfi cucina tipica fiorentina. Located on the less touristy side of the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, this restaurant has a wide variety of meal options. They even offer gluten free versions of some pizzas and pastas!

If you’re looking for fantastic food and a friendly staff, Ristorante Il Granaio in Florence is the perfect choice! We were greeted with complimentary glasses of champagne and were later serenaded by one of the staff members. Overall, great food, lively staff, and a cozy environment!

Trattoria Zà Zà is a standout restaurant of Florence. The prices are reasonable, the portions are perfect, and the food is out of this world. I highly recommend both the potato gnocchi with tomato and basil (pictured) and the gnocchi with gorgonzola cheese and fresh truffle. The gnocchi is cooked perfectly and will melt in your mouth.

Taking a quick trip out of Tuscany, this restaurant is located in Rome. If you are looking for the best cacio e pepe, this is the place for you. Hosteria Ago e Lillo was rated #1 for the best cacio e pepe in Rome for three years in a row! I can easily say that this rating is well deserved. This pasta was one of my top 5 favorite meals I had in Italy.

Last up on the list for best pasta in Tuscany is the gnocchi from Osteria Santo Spirito in Florence. This restaurant offers half-portion sizes so you can try two pastas for the price of one! I highly recommend the gnocchi with soft cheese and truffle oil as well as the rigatoni santo spirito with tomato sauce and dry ricotta cheese.

If you’re in Florence and looking for a meal with a view, ToscaNino on top of the Rinascente department store is the place for you! This rooftop cafe has the perfect view of the Duomo as well as the rest of the city. You can enjoy a selection of fresh pastas, pizzas, salads, coffees, and more!

Quick sandwiches are a typical lunch for Firenze locals. Antica Porchetteria Granieri 1916 is a fantastic choice for one of these sandwiches! The porchetta is phenomenal and extremely fresh. This place is perfect for those who are trying to eat great food on a budget. A sandwich price ranges from 5 to 7 euros!

Mister Pizza in Florence is one of the best quick pizza places in the area. It is located right next to the Duomo, so you can have a great view if you decide to eat outside. The pizza takes about ten minutes to reach your table after ordering, so it is a great option if your day is jam-packed. It tends to get busy, however, so consider making a reservation.

Caffetteria Gelateria Dell’olmo, the self-proclaimed “Best Ice Cream in the World”, is the perfect stop if you find yourself in San Gimignano. It is located in Piazza Della Cisterna and it features new flavors almost every day.
